Care tips, just for you, and a guide to the main materials we use, so you can find out what's behind your products.

APPLY YOUR EMBROIDERED BROOCHES

Our headwear can be personalized with embroidered brooches. In order to take the best care of your products, you can follow these few tips.

  • Carefully open your pin.
  • Choose the location of your pin.
  • Grab a few stitches of the material, as shown in the video above.
  • Close your brooch.

After use, we recommend removing the pin to avoid marking the product.

Did you know ? If you ever observe a trace of grip on your felt products, just scratch gently with the tip of the nail (unvarnished) and voila, it's magic, the trace has disappeared.

THE MATERIALS GUIDE

All our headwear is made in Italy and meets the criteria of the European REACH standard. All the raw materials used to make them also come from Italy.

merino wool

Merino wool is an exceptional material with a soft and fine texture which makes it extremely comfortable to wear. This yarn does not cause itching or irritation, making it an ideal choice for your products. It is also a thermoregulatory material that has the ability to keep you warm while wicking away moisture. It is naturally stain and wrinkle resistant. Merino sheep are raised responsibly and their shearing is certified Museling Free.

Merino wool care

For small stains you can clean them with a soft brush or a damp sponge and a little warm water and soap or special wool detergent. If your product needs to be completely washed, we advise you to take it to a specialist. It is also advisable to store your merino wool products horizontally rather than vertically.

Cashmere

Cashmere is a noble material and particularly appreciated for its softness, its texture and its insulating and breathable technical capabilities at the same time. It is a material also renowned for its durability, particularly resistant to wear when well maintained. Our cashmere products respect animal welfare and are Museling Free certified.

wool felt

We use wool felt in some of our hat designs. It is a material made from natural wool fiber from sheep. It is a renewable resource, the wool is harvested respecting animal welfare (Museling Free certified). It has many advantages, for example it is insulating, thus protecting against cold and heat. It is also a natural moisture regulator, which will prevent you from excessive sweating and makes it comfortable, even in summer! This durable material can bend 20,000 times without breaking, allowing headwear to retain its look over time.

Care of wool felt

Do not put your hats in the washing machine or dryer.
To remove the dust, you can use a hat brush or a rag. Brush counter-clockwise to maintain hat shape.
If your felt hat gets wet, let it air dry, heat can warp the material.
To remove any warping or dents, spray the area with a low pressure spray bottle and use your fingers to gently reshape the felt back into its original shape.
To remove a stain, act as quickly as possible. Dab the excess with a clean, dry cloth, do not rub. Use a stain remover for delicate fabrics (by testing first on a small area).
If the stain persists, go to a professional dry cleaner (most dry cleaners know this.).

Materials of ornamental ribbons

Our ornamental ribbons are used to decorate your headwear. These ribbons are designed in Paris.

Our fabric ribbons are made from dormant stocks of fabrics, mainly from luxury houses. These are exclusive series, which will not be renewed, which makes them unique products. Concerning the materials used, you can read them directly via the product technical sheets. Aéle Paris strives to choose environmentally friendly materials in the design of these models.

Our grosgrain ribbons are made from a material called rayon. A natural material made from wood pulp cellulose or cotton. All our rayon ribbons are OEKO-Tex certified.

Maintaining our ornamental ribbons

Our ornamental ribbons are handmade, so it is essential to take great care of them. You can wash them gently by hand, at 30 degrees, using a damp cloth.

If a model does not meet these criteria, this will be mentioned on its technical sheet.
